Finally, a bromance for the stage... FRIGID New York presents a Descent production: FUCKING GIRLS by Ben Thompson. FUCKING GIRLS is a hilarious and misguided romantic fantasy about a young man “sleeping” his way through his ex-girlfriends en route to find true love. With a couple of major speed bumps along the way. February 24 to March 6, 2011 at The Kraine Theatre. JON BASS |
Jon Bass (James) is so super happy to be fucking girls--IN fucking girls. Sorry. New York Theatre: Friends in Transient Places (Ars Nova), Harmonious Pimps of Harmony (Ars Nova),Heart Torture Station (Colt Ceour), The Tenant (Woodshed Collective), The Freakin Kick A Adventures of Bradley Boatright (Playwrights Horizons Workshop), and The Williamstown Theatre Festival Non-eq company. He is also writing a web series about a time traveler, astronaut, and ninja who are roommates. |
CAROLYN GILLIAM |
Carolyn Gilliam (Girls) is a recent alum of Boston University’s Theatre Arts program. She recently appeared in ENTOMO at the A.R.T.’s Oberon theatre. Her B.U. roles include Mrs. Fryer in Radium Girls, Jayden in Dinosaurs at Recess and Policeman in The Good Person of Setchuan. Carolyn also studied Commedia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. She would like to thank Paul Leopold and Ben Thompson for their work on this show. |
BRENDAN McCARTHY |
Brendan McCarthy (Mike) is a warm soul who hails from North Reading, Massachusetts and currently lives in Brooklyn. He is absolutely thrilled to be apart of Frigid New York 2011. After graduating from Boston University’s acting program, Brendan was recently seen in ENTOMO at the A.R.T.’s Oberon theatre in Cambridge, MA. Brendan would like to thank his Mom and Dad for letting him be in a play called FUCKING GIRLS! |
BEN THOMPSON |
Ben Thompson (playwright) recently graduated from Boston University's School of Theatre with a BFA in Acting. New York Credits: Taming of the Shrew (Petruchio); Other Credits: Merrily We Roll Along (Charlie), Radium Girls (Roeder), Twelfth Night (Orsino), King Lear (Edmund). This is Ben's first produced play and he is very proud and excited to be part of the Frigid Festival. |
PAUL LEOPOLD |
Paul Leopold (Director) is a director, actor and teaching artist living in Brooklyn, NY. Previous directing credits include ENTOMO, Jake McDowell’s YoHo, Stravinsky’s The Soldiers Tale, Donald Margulies’ New Years Eve/Kibbutz, BITE and Aperture. Paul recently graduated from Boston University with a BFA in Theatre Arts. Additionally, he has studied with physical theatre collectives SITI Company and Double Edge Theatre. |
LIANNE BECKER |
Lianne Becker (designer) recently graduated from Boston University's School of Theatre with a BFA in Theatre Arts. Regional credits include Maggie in diventare at the Kennedy Center and New World Stages and Susan in The Wild Place at the Central Square Theatre. Other credits include: Mother in Blood Wedding, Rita in The Hill, Benni in Abandon All Hope and Sofia in Two Sisters and a Piano. In addition to BU she trained at the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. |
